Creating a Botanical Sanctuary on your lands provides a vital home for at-risk medicinal plants. These plants are vital to the future of plant medicine and are part of the rich history of Michigan’s native species.

Michigan Protects offers a variety of plant choices that are all on United Plant Savers at-risk medicinal species list and are native to Michigan. We also offer long term maintenance services for a nominal annual fee.

We offer several tiers that enable you to participate at a variety of financial levels.

Each level will enable you to apply to be part of the Botanical Sanctuary Network with the United Plant Savers.

Entry level - $1000

Supporting Subheading

25 mixed species plants and one seed lot consisting of approximately 6000 seeds or one LB (depending on the variety chosen).

Bronze Tier - $2500

Supporting Subheading

75 mixed species plants and three seed lots consisting of approximately 6000 seeds or one LB each (depending on the variety chosen).

We will assist you in your application with UpS for a Botanical Sanctuary.

Silver Tier - $5000

Supporting Subheading

150 plants of your choice (based on availability) and six seed lots consisting of approximately 6000 seeds or one LB each (depends on the variety chosen).

Or 170 mixed species plants and three seed lots consisting of approximately 6000 seeds or one LB each (depending on the variety chosen).. Plus, one yellow lady’s slipper plant. We will assist you in your application with UpS for a Botanical Sanctuary.

Gold Tier - $7500

Supporting Subheading

25 plants of your choice (based on availability) and nine seed lots of one pound seeding each; or 245 mixed species plants and six seed lots.

Additional Service

Annual Maintenance

*Annual maintenance fees include two visits annually to your land to monitor for invasive species and to evaluate and support plant growth and survival. Additional services are available to cultivate plant reproduction through plant divisions every two to three years. Training is provided at this time to help you monitor the health of your plant stands.

All of the at-risk medicinal species planted by Michigan Protects require the forest biome for survival. Optimal planting conditions are essential for the success of your Botanical Sanctuary.

Michigan Protects does not and cannot guarantee success of the plantings. We strive to take every action possible to ensure the success of every planting, but we cannot mitigate weather, environmental conditions, natural predators, or other circumstances that could affect the survival of plants.
